Why sequencing risk is a real danger

Earlier in the year, FinalytiQ director Abraham Okusanya raised warnings over sequencing risk – the risk that early poor returns can lower the value of a post-retirement investment portfolio in the long term.
However, a few weeks ago Paul Resnik and Peter Worcester of Finametrica responded with a counter-warning that fears over sequencing risk could be overstated, and used figures taken from UK, US and Australian markets showed it was worth taking some extra investment risk in the early years of retirement.
