This report is the logical successor to a previous report on The Status of Marine Insurance in the United States. That report aimed to present existing conditions and was limited, in the main, to a discussion of the importance of marine insurance as a competitive weapon in international trade, the volume and classification of the business, the appalling extent of foreign control, and the ecomonic reasons underlying the growth of foreign underwriting facilities as contrasted with our own.
