As the world gets increasingly digitized, with everything from social-media accounts to online-only banks, it’s important to have a digital estate plan should you become incapacitated or die.
Digital assets like Facebook or a Bitcoin account may not be covered by a standard estate plan despite the value they may have, says Jamie Hopkins, co-director of the New York Life Center for Retirement Income at the American College of Financial Services.
