Smart or Active Beta ETFs Focus on Dividend Yield, Volatility in 2016

A portion of the new smart or active beta ETF funds which were launched in 2016 are largely focused on dividend yield, volatility and momentum.
During periods of extreme volatility in stock market returns, smart beta minimum volatility ETFs are generating returns of 6% to 7% and remain the "unsung heroes," said Edison Byzyka, chief investment officer of Hefty Wealth Partners in Auburn, Ind.
