Many persons desiring to pursue a course of study which will enable them to qualify for the designation of Chartered Life Underwriter have expressed a need for an outline which would define the scope of the subject-matter covered by each of the five major fields of learning in which examinations are given. Heretofore, the College has endeavored to indicate in a broad way the subjects embraced in its examinations by suggesting a list of books as it was deemed wise not to attempt too narrow a delimitation.
